Alexander Sexsmith
Alexander Sexsmith is an architect and founder of Sexsmith Architects, with a practice shaped by material culture, refined construction, and a strong commitment to sustainable design. Born in Canada, raised in New England, and informed by travels across Asia, Europe, and the Middle East, Alex brings a global perspective to contemporary architecture that values warmth, simplicity, and craftsmanship.
He moved to Los Angeles in 2001 to complete his Master’s in Architecture at SCI-Arc, where a semester in Japan deepened his appreciation for material expression and contemplative space. Since then, he has worked across corporate and boutique firms in the US and abroad on institutional and residential projects. Now based in Arizona, which he describes as a resilience lab for the future, Alex focuses on climate-resilient, regenerative buildings. He is licensed in California, Colorado, and New Mexico, NCARB-certified, and a LEED-accredited professional.
