
Gary Yohe
Dr. Gary Yohe is one of the world’s most influential climate economists, ranked 24th globally among climate scholars. He is Professor Emeritus of Economics and Environmental Studies at Wesleyan University and a senior member of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), where he shared in the 2007 Nobel Peace Prize. Over four decades, Gary has pioneered the risk management approach to climate policy, reframing climate change as a problem of managing uncertainty, resilience, and unavoidable impacts. He has served as Lead Author on multiple IPCC reports, Vice Chair of the U.S. National Climate Assessment advisory committee, and continues to shape public debate through his writing in The Hill, Project Syndicate, and The Conversation. His current project, Climate Café on Substack, brings together six leading experts with over 175 years of combined experience to share accessible, practical insights on the climate crisis.
